Does the transformer method have starting power? You bet it does. Watch this clip and think about it. We are playing around with the vacuum cleaner and the 5hp Champion air compressor. We start and run the vacuum cleaner and start and run the 5 hp air compressor from the one 15 kva transformer. Then we start the ten horse vacuum cleaner while the five horse air compressor is running. The 15 kva transformer is now, not only able to start the vacuum cleaner, but it can also start the vacuum cleaner, while it is running the air compressor. And what surprised me was, I felt that if it did start it, it would make a noticeable lag, or hesitation in the air compressor. If you watch the video you can see there was no hesitation at all, it started the vacuum with out missing a beat. Fantastic.
