The first thing you should notice here is, how quiet it is.  When we click the switch the amp meter runs up to 164 amps before the machine comes up to speed. This shows how much it takes to get this vacuum cleaner started. It takes four seconds. This is what rotary converter manufacturers would classify as a hard to start machine. The transformer method soft starts the motor. We are able to do it on a 60 amp breaker.
